Entering the blogging world...

I guess it had to finally happen. We took the baby step by setting up this blog over a year ago in order to provide a link so that people (mainly grandparents) could view our pictures. Gradually, we learned about adding video clips and have experimented with that. But, the time has finally come - I'm going to take the plunge and "blog". I figure it just makes sense - this way, I can quickly give lots of people (grandparents) updates (funny stories) about what's going on with us (Madigan). Plus, it will be fun for me to look back at and remember what all went on in our lives, since the days seems to be flying by very quickly lately!
So -for a quick family update (consider it an early Christmas card letter :))
Ted is still working for Heifer Int., but took a job in the IT department in April. So, he's officially a "computer dork" now. He really enjoys the work he's doing and stays incredibly busy most of the time. Yes, Saturdays are still devoted to garage sales and the Ebay business (which continues to grow... we're not sure if that's a good or bad thing!) I'm still working in the Conway Public Schools as a School Psychology Specialist. I work three days a week and love my job. I'm assigned to two elementary schools and they keep me very busy! We still attend church at the Levy Church of Christ in North Little Rock and are so blessed by that congregation and the friendships we've made.
Okay, now for the part you actually care about... Madigan is now 14 months old (can you believe it?!!) She's into EVERYTHING and loving it! I tell people that she went from crawling to running - we never got to see the slow, careful walking that is supposed to be part of learning to walk! She amazes us everyday with the things she does and says (even when we can't understand what she says...). Her latest feats - she's learned to walk backward and does it well on command (see video in last entry); she's learning to eat with a spoon and although it's still quite messy, we're making progress; she's learned some of the important "signs" (all done, more, thank you, and help); and she's added "read" to her list of words (which comes in handy since that's her FAVORITE thing to do.)
A couple of funny stories from the last week:
1. We were getting ready to go somewhere last Saturday evening and I told her to go ask Daddy if he would change her diaper (just a wet one, no big deal...). She looked at me like she knew what I was talking about and then walked out of the room. In a few minutes, she returned. I looked down at her and she shook her head and said "no no, no no"! Daddy says she never asked, but I guess she just decided that was going to be the answer! :)
2. We were at the ballpark (home away from home) last week waiting for our games to start and a lady came in with two dogs. Madigan immediately started panting like a dog and went over to "visit". She stood there for a while, so excited that we were letting her play with them. Then, out of nowhere, she started screaming. Ted rushed over to see what was wrong and found out the problem. Madigan had been eating chips when she walked over and apparently one of the dogs decided to have a little nibble. She was FURIOUS! We had to calm her down with some new chips! She had no interest in the dogs after that!
Well, that's probably enough for one entry. Make sure you look at the "Bowsman Family Photos" link on the right and look at the last few folders (Halloween, October, and Aunt Kate's visit). We hope everyone is doing well! Love you all!
